The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failure, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company… a church… a home.
I am not sure who said this...but I sure do like it! Attitude is EVERYTHING. As a Christian it is an absolute, a have to have, a bottom line. Although if you are really truthful it is important if you are just a believer of nothing. How a person can believe nothing I do not know, but some principles are just firm( I know that they are there because of God....either way they ARE). Attitude is one of them. There have been "bad apple" quotes for literally hundreds of years. I found these:
The only disability in life is a bad attitude. ~Scott Hamilton
“A bad attitude is the worst thing that can happen to a group of people. It’s infectious.” Roger Allan Raby
“The cynic knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.” Oscar Wilde
Every thought is a seed. If you plant crab apples, don't count on harvesting Golden Delicious. ~Bill Meyer
“No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.” Helen Keller
When we talk about life honestly, we have lots of up and lots of down. We have moments when we want to be great and we realize that our "want to" (um...attitude) is all that will get us where we want to be. In keeping with that thought I loved Milton Berles quote:
“I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are.”
haha...I love it....It's opportunity. When our desire, our attitude will make us great and at very very least give us a chance!
As I looked at attitude quotes, some funny, some serious, some silly, some mocking, but one that really spoke to me was the one below. The words of one of my most favorite people...one who walked the walk when it came to attitude, Helen Keller:
“No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars, or sailed to an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.”
Even if I never read an inspirational story, if I never had a Helen Keller example, if I lived to be a hundred and only knew of God I would know that within me is the power, the gift, that seed of greatness, for I am my Fathers and with Him I can truly do all things....attitude of the heart, attitude of the mind and attitude of the soul MATTERS!!
"For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7
"For with God all things are possible." Mark 10:27
"I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me." Phil 4:13
