After wards we stopped to buy groceries to make Chowder for dinner.
The chowder was wonderful, of course:) After dinner Bo took the girls and they rode to golf cart to rent a movie to watch. Chelsea, Michael and I all played bumper pool. It has been many years since I have played but we sure did have fun:)
The kids loved being at Chelsea and Bo's, me too! They were great hosts. Sunday morning they got up and cooked us pancakes and sausage and bacon...yummy!
We were so very lucky to be able to stay and go to worship with Chelsea and Bo. Sunday was their friend's day, how wonderful to be able to there with them.
My funny of the day would have to be Seth. Seth came out of class and as we sat in the auditorium he turned and asked, "Can I go sit with my new best friend?" I smiled and told him no. We have rules even at home about where we sit on Sunday morning. When worship was over Seth's "new best friend" found him. As we talked to people he and his new best friend, whose name happens to be Jaxon (or Jackson) played around us. In perfect 2nd grade boyism they played as if they had been friends for their whole lives. As we sat down Chelsea asked if they had played together at the wedding. Surprised I asked if the little boy was there?
Small small world.... This little boy was at the wedding. He was there with his mother, brother and grandparents. The Grandmother who had actually grown up in Savannah. The little boy was cousin to two of the flower girls in Chelsea's wedding. The boys mother is Emily. I spoke to her at the fellowship dinner. Sadness has been part of Emily and her mother's lives over the last few weeks. Emily's father died suddenly a few days after the wedding. This world is so full of joy and with it sorrow. Equal parts both blooming. The good and the bad. The happy and the sad. In the midst of all the adult feelings, in the middle of our travel Seth, in typical 8 year old fashion, found a friend. A friendship he will enjoy on this earth and hopefully enjoy in eternity and all the time in between! Such a small small world!
