What a hard headed kid...to be sure! But, she is also one of my more gifted children. When she is playing piano her spirit is SO very sweet....Today I was listening as she played "Sweet Adoration" then moved into "I'll be your Candle" (from Pete's Dragon) then into "Heal the World" then to "Over the River and Through the Woods"....it is something amazing to hear. More amazing is that she has taught herself to play. I looked at Scott after the Sweet Adoration and whispered "we are gonna have to get her piano lessons". It is a sweetness this daughter really needs:)

I really enjoy reading about everyone's accomplishments :)
ReplyDeleteAs a piano teacher it brings me great joy to read this type of posts!! Amazing. Tell her that her gift of music is a blessing to many
ReplyDeleteI have a daughter who was very difficult for several years (to put it nicely). She was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder, but that's just a name for something we still had to deal with. We discovered that if she played piano (or other instrument) for 30 minutes (often she would slip into it for an hour or longer) both her mood and her ability to work would improve immensely - without any other interventions. She is now a very accomplished adult. Sounds like you may have a similar set of gifts and challenges!
