Stuart was through yesterday. He was here long enough to eat dinner with us and hang out with the little kids. I thought (as Doug ran through with buddies the day before, staying only about 30 minutes before lamenting his need to be back and regretting not seeing the kids) that I LOVE being so close to the college all my kids (so far) have attended. Forty-five minutes is a great (and thankfully not so great/long) distance. Stuart is headed skiing this weekend and came home to raid Jacob's ski clothes. He found a jacket and a couple of pair of ski pants. It's nice to have lots of siblings with lots of interests:) Even neater when you can share the clothes!
Mercedez and Tasha are headed to Nashville with a friend, Ashley, to celebrate her birthday. They are staying overnight at a "Place that has a Pool" which is of course the only vital information:) My sweet friend Anne has the night planned (as Ashley is her only grand-daughter). I am sure Anne will experience lots of silliness and fun!
All the elementary school kids have their parties today for Valentines Day. I smiled last night listening to them address their cards. We ran out, so Seth and I went to pick up another package. I had been so smart to buy up cards last year.(super cheap...like for 10 cents a pack), but did not buy enough. I was reminded of whey I love kids so much when Seth and I were picking out a Valentines Card. He was picking them up and reading them...after a while he turned and in total amazement said, "Mom, these are all like rhyming books!" I did laugh:) Valentine cards tend to be slightly better than "Roses are red....." but still in the same rhyming category!
Every year the 4th grade teachers have a Valentine "Box" contest...they have been doing it for years! We have had some neat ones over the years....here and here and here are some. Tori is my very opinionated, know what she wants in life, kid. So here is hers:) A mixer...actually a "Strawberry Slush". Fun times:)
And pulling us all back to the impending joy of "the Wedding" is the invitations I and all my girls (who were very tickled) received. There is just something special about opening a letter addressed to you and finding happiness within! We are EIGHT days away....it's going to be here so very fast!
I cannot tell you how excited we are about our photographer...yesterday Chelsea brought home her bridal portrait. We are using it at the wedding...I LOVE IT!! I will be posting the picture ...haha...next Saturday night:)
