Basketball and Baseball....

We are covered up in bball right now...basketball or baseball...take your pick and someone is playing!

Saturday morning had the trio above playing one of the most exciting games!!! They lost by one point after overtime. What a hard fought game for all the girls!

Lita had a great game...gotta love the following two pictures...Lita does not have the ability to hold her game face very long!!!





Bella plays really well under the goal!!

Seth had a nearly three hour (that sure was a long time to mom who was watching) practice. Seth is going to be catching this year....he loves it (of course he loves ball...period!).





And there was plain old yard ball going on at the house too!!!

YEAH Mercedez!

Mercedez had cheer practice all week and yesterday morning (Saturday) she had the tryouts. She made the basketball squad for next year:) She is really excited!! Good Job Cedez!!



Mercedez number was 14:) The school posts the cheer team but posts the ones who made it by numbers rather than names(a pretty respectful thing to do!).

Ball Ball and more Ball

Last night was Michael, Daniel and Ryan's first basketball game....What a great game!!! Fast paced and close...they worked so hard and won!!! Love having Stuart home this week from college...he makes an awesome spectator along with the rest of the crew:)

Jacob and Scott were coaching..love seeing my kids learn from their dad (he's just pretty wonderful!!).



These guys were really hustling:)

Fishing

Ms Gail has been very good to Sam. She has found things for Sam to help her with and little projects fro them to work on this week. Yesterday she took Sam fishing. Sam had BIG day as you can see by his catches:)

Neat to have brothers who are helpers....Michael cleaned up those fish for Sam and Ms Gail!

Speaking of Michael...he left last night on one of the neatest (in Michael's mind for sure) events he has been able to be part of! A fishing tournament that he gets to participate in with a great fisherman Mr Don Perkins (our youth minister Dustin's dad). They came and picked up Michael last night. He is so excited!! The picture below is with Mr Don and his sweet wife Tracy.

Baseball has officially began!

Maybe other people have have already started ball, but yesterday was the first day of baseball practice for Ryan and Seth. Hard to believe I will only have two playing baseball!! These two boys are so very very different!! But even in their differences is a big common ground...baseball (lol..and most other balls too).

In the midst of crazy afternoons and yesterday was a crazy one, I am always so grateful for my big helpers and friends! Preston helped out with the running...love that silly guy!!!

St Patrick's Day!

I'm late on my blogging, but had to blog Sarah and her berries! Yummy!!

Lucky??

You know that saying, "you live and learn" ? You can learn IF you live! Boys of all ages amaze me sometimes. Last night Paden was driving to our house. He's on Spring Break and was coming to take Sarah to get her wisdom teeth out today in Jackson. He went the way he always goes....through Coffee Landing. Scott nor I nor anyone else (unfortunately) thought about that or even made the connection between Paden...Coffee Landing....and the river. A correlation Paden will not "get" ever again! Living on the river is just different from other places, when the river is "out" it impacts homes, crops, animals and ROADS.

At 9:30 last night Sarah came running into the living room yelling at Scott that Paden was in water and it was rushing into his truck. They ran out the door with Scott calling Jacob (that silly redneck boy and his buddies truly came in handy!). The did contemplate calling 911 as they crossed the bridge, but the water had stopped rushing in and no one really realized how bad it was.



At 10:30 last night Jacob and his friend Ryan waded to Paden (actually walked down the road which was covered in water) to walk Paden out. Jake and Ryan walked in their underwear. Seth who was too excited to be in bed was sitting by me as I talked to Scott, Sarah, Chelsea, and Jacob, asked, "why are they only in their underwear?" I explained so they had dry clothes to put on when they got back to the Jeep. Seth said,"I hope they brought more underwear with them" I smiled thinking that most boys don't carry spare clothes around (although they really should)when Seth said in his serious (and funny way), "Well, I guess there's much more 'portant stuff than underwear." Truer words have not been spoken! Although they really are important, just in the face of drowning they seem to drop on the list of 'portant stuff.

This morning Paden and Sarah went to see the truck on their way to Jackson. I met them and waited for the tow truck (2.5 hours I waited, watched and took pictures). I was there so very long Jacob joined me and Sam.

The happy lucky news? Insurance will cover the loss. Extra lucky the Sheriff car that pulled down did not write him a ticket. SUPER LUCKY to live to put this lesson to use!! Do not drive into water!!

The pictures are bad, but no true reflection of the seriousness. Last night Jacob stood in the back of Paden's truck with water to his knees. The water was to the steering wheel...serious water. The water had receded this morning when I took the pictures.....





And if you're wondering about Sarah? Silly girl called from the Doctors office (higher than a kite). She believes she is doing wonderfully! lol:) And she is....right now. She sent this picture (which she will shoot me for blogging...but it is classic Sarah!):
