We have had TONS of rain. More rain that this county has seen in the 22 years Scott and I have lived here. We are personally very lucky, we have no damage and have been very safe and dry. But, so very many in Tennessee(and other states too I am sure) have had such loss!! Scott's sister in Mt Juliet has serious damage and the pictures I have seen of damage is simply incredible. The picture at the top of the post is from our front porch, the next one is the "creek" that is at the back of our property.
The kids are all home from school today and hopefully the rain is finished (although it doesn't really look like it!). We did go to church yesterday morning and took these "rain" pictures on the way. Victoria said "There sure is a lot of Flush Flooding" When we laughed and corrected her she said, "We it looks like it's just flushing it all away!" :) True.
Scott treated us to lunch out, we all ate at Long John Silvers. We have been slightly trapped inside and the lunch out was a nice treat!!
The rain had the skies so dark we pulled down the big screen and watched movies all afternoon. We also enjoyed the neat Christmas gift from Stuart and Sarah, a cool popcorn maker:)
We were home for church last night. We probably could have gone, but Seth was so disappointed that we did not stay home yesterday morning! Why? Because he wanted to read two scriptures and lead 4 songs:) Funny guy! We stayed home and had "church" together. Seth actually read 3 scriptures and led 5 songs. John led several (what a wonderful leader he is!!!). Scott gave a devo on covenants and we all enjoyed our time together:)
