Ryan is one of our sibs of six we adopted from Texas. At the time we did not think we would be adopting, were not planning on adopting, more than 3. Scott and I grew up in the "8 is enough" generation and we thought 8 was a good number. If you have one child you can imagine two and if you have two you can image 4....so on and so on...so we thought 8 was a good number. Not to mention we had kept more than that in our home while fostering so we did feel it was realistic. Then I saw this sweet group of six who all needed a family together. Ryan was the baby. They were truly to good to be true and with the help of a wonderful social worker we brought them all home the summer Rosie turned 4. Ryan was one year old. Cute as can be and a great little guy!! The above picture was taken the week after we brought them home. We were so blessed to have great friends (the Clausel's) who let us use their beautiful beach house in Destin. It was right on the ocean and the kids all loved it! Scott's parents were able to be with us and it was truly a wonderful way to incorporate into our family....we were all in paradise:) Below is a picture of Ryan from this summer...he sure has grown up!
How many did you have at home when you adopted six? Did you have to do certain things to be allowed to adopt 6 at one time when you obviously had more at home?

We had five at home when we adopted the six. No certain things, aside from the obvious....homestudy to approve us for a sibling group that size, space in our home, nothing out of the ordinary. We had fostered for the State of TN (via special approval) of up to 11 at one time, so they had to support us being capable. As far as TX was conerned they do not have number limits on the home when it comes to adoption. And you are so right....he was a cutie:)
